A couple of undated photos with no names attached from Frank Milligan... who do you recognize?

Summer Staff, 1981

Ever-inventive, the staff photo in 1981 was taken outside the Officers' Quarters. 

There are about a dozen people in this photo that have told us they are planning to attend the reunion, yay! And about the same number that we either don't have contact info for or that we haven't heard back from — pass the word onto any fellow staff you are in touch with! And look for ticket information sometime in May.

We've made it to the start of the 80s, and the 1980 staff photo. 

It's hard to believe that this is the only staff photo that Everett's wagon is in!

Early Reunions

Before the Georgian Queen boat cruise extravaganza of 2013, summer staff reunions were held on the grounds of HNME the summers of 1982 and 1987. The group photos of the two events have recently appeared in our Facebook group, and we thought we would share them here too. Were you at one or both of them? Who else do you recognize?

1979 Summer Staff

A beautiful spring day in 1979 for the staff photo — a day totally unlike today, where freezing rain and ice pellets are falling atop the foot of snow from yesterday. Right now it's hard to believe weather like in the photo could be a few short weeks away.

Twenty-two people in this photo are already on our email list or are members of our Facebook page. We hope to see most of them on July 21st! Please be sure to share the reunion date with any former HNMEers you are in touch with. We are still waiting to hear from about 50 staff from the email list so we know they are getting all the reunion information. If you haven't responded to our last email yet, please do! We plan to send out ticket information soon.

The Summer of '78

In 1978, the staff photo was taken in the Orientation Centre (which, for later summer staff, became the Children's Centre). So perhaps it was a rainy or even snowy day? Also interesting that everyone is in civilian clothes, rather than costumes and tour guide dresses. 

1978 marked Frank Milligan's first year as Interpretive and Education Officer. There is also someone in this photo marking a FIFTH season as a summer staff member... can you identify who that is?

Another beautiful spring day on the shores of Penetang Bay for the 1977 staff photo...

Not the greatest resolution in this picture, but it's a photocopy of the original. Hope you are still able to identify some of the faces and add names in the comments below! Thora Cartlidge became the new  Interpretive and Education Officer this season, replacing Wendy Buscombe.
